Cathy has been running since high school and enjoys it as a way to stay fit. She is a part of the Newton running group, RunnersUp, who have provided a supportive community and enabled her to get through marathon training. Cathy started her work with the Newton Food Pantry as the coordinator for her kids’ elementary school food and toiletry drives. A couple of years ago she started helping with the freedge and is now doing the weekly bread pickups from Great Harvest for the Newton Food Pantry.

“I am always so touched by the dedication and compassion the volunteers show to all clients, and the generosity of business owners who donate goods to end hunger in our community,” Cathy said when reflecting on her years of volunteer work at the Newton Food Pantry.

Cathy is a stay-at-home mom with two busy daughters. When she’s not helping out at the Newton Food Pantry, Cathy loves being involved in her daughters’ school and extracurricular activities. She also enjoys gardening at her daughters’ school and at home, doing hot yoga, playing with her Yorkie named Buttercup, and, of course, running!
So far, Cathy has raised over $4,500 for the Newton Food Pantry! Donate today and help Cathy reach her fundraising goal of $8,000.
