My family and I live a few blocks away from the pantry, and on Wednesdays, we were shocked to see the line of cars waiting for food. I spoke to my wife, and we agreed that I should volunteer as I was fortunate enough to be able to spare a couple of hours per week for this great cause.

How has working with the Newton Food Pantry impacted you?

I get to see people from all walks of life that dedicate their time for a common cause, and unfortunately, we don’t see or hear from these people in the media.

Why do you think diversity is important in places like food pantries?

The beauty of the U.S. is that it’s a melting pot of all cultures and backgrounds. At times of need, getting support from people that share your culture or background is much easier to accept.
