With increased costs in housing, food, and other basic needs, some of our neighbors are making impossible choices between paying bills and putting food on the table.

Did you know that over 3,650 Newton residents live in poverty, according to the 2021 U.S. Census?

Our data show that this number has only grown since 2021. Last fiscal year, 910 households with over 2,100 individual members came to the Newton Food Pantry for assistance. Throughout the year, we supported them with over 12,200 shopping visits and deliveries. This is a 21% increase in total individuals served over the prior year and 3x the number of visits and deliveries since before the pandemic.

We will not be deterred by these numbers. Together, with your support, we can make the holidays more joyful for our neighbors in need.

This season, we will be distributing grocery gift cards which allow families to purchase food that is significant to their holidays and traditions. In addition, we will offer all our clients holiday meal boxes loaded with hearty and nutritious foods. And, for the 14th consecutive year, throughout the month of December, clients can choose from a wide variety of items at our holiday gift table, organized by a dedicated Newton Food Pantry volunteer.

Please join us in supporting our neighbors in need this holiday season by making your donation today. Thank you for all you do to give back to our community.
