With more than 20 years of human resources experience in the human services field, Janine is passionate about fostering organizational cultures of engagement and belonging. In her current role at Advocates, she develops and implements HR strategies that align with the organization’s mission and vision. She collaborates closely with leaders to attract, develop, and retain top talent while advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion, and creating a positive work environment for all staff.

Janine has received widespread recognition for her leadership and contributions to the HR profession. In 2024, she was honored with the prestigious John D. Erdlen Founders Award by the Northeast HR Association (NEHRA), which celebrates individuals who demonstrate excellence in HR leadership. In 2023, she was also recognized as a Black Excellence on the Hill honoree at a ceremony hosted by the Massachusetts Black & Latino Legislative Caucus, celebrating Black leaders making significant community impacts.

She also serves on the advisory board for Framingham State University’s Master of Human Resources program, chairs the HR Committee for the Association for Behavioral Healthcare (ABH), and contributes as a member of the Training & Conferences Committee for the Association of Developmental Disabilities Providers (ADDP). She co-chairs the Sudbury Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Commission and serves on the Steering Committee for the Racial Climate Community Group at Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School.

Janine holds a master’s degree in management from Emmanuel College and a bachelor’s of science in business administration from Boston University. She is a dually certified senior HR professional (SPHR and SHRM-SCP) and a certified Employee Engagement Specialist.

In her free time, Janine enjoys spending time with family and friends, spoiling her fur baby, and traveling. She resides in Sudbury, MA, with her husband, Kemo, and their three children.
